Equal Rights. Fair Taxation. Sensible Regulations.

The California Citizen Lobby Day is the state's largest medical cannabis lobby day. We bring hundreds of advocates to Sacramento to talk with lawmakers and staff about legislation that affects their lives. This is a great chance for consumers, advocates, industry workers, researchers, and concerned community members to make a difference in California.

Americans for Safe Access (ASA) and California NORML will make an appointment for you to meet with your State Assembly Member and Senator when you register for the event. Please sign up now, so we have time to schedule your appointment. We will stop scheduling appointments for participants on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 12 noon. However, you can still participate even if you did not register before the deadline (but you might not have a scheduled appointment).

Participants will meet on Monday morning for a light breakfast before our program in the Metropolitan Terrace on the 7th floor of the Citizen Hotel, just three blocks from the State Capitol Building in downtown Sacramento. We will have a briefing on the medical cannabis bills, a short training on effective citizen lobbying, and some special guest speakers. Participants will meet with their representatives and staff on Monday afternoon to discuss more than forty medical and adult use cannabis bills.

Participants will be helping ASA and California NORML find an author for important new legislation in 2018 to protect medical and adult use consumers. We hope to sponsor legislation to prevent discrimination in employment and in equal access to health care.

After the California Citizen Lobby Day is finished, participants will have a chance to mingle with lawmakers and each other at a special VIP Reception in the Scandal Lounge at the Citizen Hotel. The reception is always a highlight of the lobby day. Don't miss out. The VIP reception is free for lobby day participants (when they return their feedback forms). Admission to the reception is free for lobby day participants. The suggested donation for guests is $20.
